This trail is a terrific cross-country trail, as it runs over roots, rocks, roller-coaster-like gravity cavities, and has plenty of tight turns. There is even a small freeride section on top of the outer ridge. The trail runs through private property, (all the owners give consent - but HELMETS ARE REQUIRED - and you are biking at your own risk)and uphills are rewarded with long, fast downhills.
The best way to access the trail is to start at the end of Plandome Rd in the culdesac, and there is a semi-circular driveway to the left. On the upper leg of the driveway, carry your bike into the woods. Walk alongside the mulch, and you will see the trail to your left. After going for a while and up the switchbacks, the trail divides left and right. Go left. When that trail ends at a T-intersection, go left again. This puts you on the ridge. At the end of this short climb, the trail splits into three ways. The left two are a loop (take the middle) and the right one is a downhill trail to the bottom of the switchbacks. When you do the loop and return to this point, you can do the downhill or return back down the ridge trail. At one point, there is a trail that splits off to the right. It has a wooden drop-launch, which flows into a fast jump. Just explore, it is not that difficult. Enjoy!

Go on 58 West towards Martinsville, VA. At one of the first stoplights near town, turn left onto Mt. Olivet Rd., into an area called "Chatmoss Village." Take your third right on Plandome, and park in the cul-de-sac.
Summary: This trail is sweet, I do it all the time, and I have gotten to where it all takes me about 30-40 minutes. Of course, that is bombing the downhills and grinding the uphills. Freeride drop resembles a North Shore type forest, very flowy. Talk to some locals about all the freeride stuff around town. I also recommend downtown Martinsville for an urban ride.
