Summary:
Good trail system with easy access to Fort Lee . Majority of trails are double track, but some sections of single track are found. The trails are well maintained and hold up well even after a rain due to the amount of crushed rock that has been laid down. I agree with the previous review - not worth a special trip if you're not in the area, but it is a good trail for beginners or younger kids. If you work at Fort Lee , like me, it is a good ride at lunch or after work.

Recommended Route:
Ride it any direction and change it up the next time you ride.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Pocahontas State Park, James River Park Trails (Buttermilk, North Trail and Belle Isle)

Summary:
Easy, accessible local trail great for local riders looking to get out without having to head up to Pocahontas/Richmond. Mostly double track with a few sections of single track, nearly all of it is open to hikers/cyclists/horses. The trails are well marked, with a shorter 4 mile loop with a few short climbs and a longer outside loop that runs nearly 8 miles. Probably not worth a special trip if you're not in the area, but I work right there and can ride it on the way to work/lunch/ or after work rides. Trail is well maintained by the park staff.

Only words of caution are the horses; they chew up the trails pretty badly in the dry weather. Ride early (mornings) to avoid them.

Recommended Route:
You can ride clockwise or counterclockwise, doesn't make a difference

Other recommended trails in the same area:
None.
