Weekend Warrior Summary: I am a 50 year old, weekend warrior and have been riding for about 20 years. I ride Freedom, New Quarter, and York River on a regular basis.
I wanted to try a new trail so I went to the Eastern Virginia Mountaiin Bike Associations web site, of which I am a member. I found directions to the Upper County Park Trail.
Following the very accurate directions I made my way up to Upper County Park for the first time last Sunday with low expectations. I didn't know much about the trail and was afraid I would find an ill marked, leaf covered, and unreadable trail.
Much to my surprise I entered the woods at a well marked entrance and proceeded to find a fantastic trail completely clear of leaves! As I pedaled along through the ups and downs of this incredibly beautiful landscape I couldn't help but be ashamed of myself for thinking that any trail that EVMA is involved with could be anything but great.
The Upper County Park trail is nothing less than a blast to ride and I can't wait to go back again.
Thanks EVMA!
Recommended Route: Single loop. I rode counter clockwise and got a good workout. Other recommended trails in the same area: Freedom Park, New Quarter Park, and York River State Park.
