Henry Lanum Memorial trail

This trails is friggin awesome. It's a 6.2 mile loop and worth every bit of it. You start by going down to the cascades on a wide jeep road type thing. Then you cross a creek and that's where the single track starts. then you climb...and climb...until you get to the top of Mt. pompeii. From there it's literally all downhill. Your brakes will be smokin, but just let go and enjoy the super technical descent. It was AWESOME down hill. Then you have to climb a bit more but the downhill after that is psycho fast and funner than anything I've ridden in the area. Enjoy!!!!

Summary:
We took this trail as a side diversion to riding in Douthat State Park. It's fairly remote and off the beaten path but well marked and maintained. We saw lots of hikers but I'm not sure if that is normal for a Thursday in October.

Rocky and steep in places with a killer downhill section. The climb to the top of Mt. Pleasant is very rocky and we left the bikes behind and hiked up.

Worth riding if you're in the area and looking for something different.

Recommended Route:
counter clock wise.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Douthat.
