, from Virginia Beach, VA. Summary: The Cape Henry trail which is legal is flat and a good place for a cardio workout but nothing else. Nice scenery. But the illegal trails are cool for coastal. Great for families or people with severe heart conditions. Crowded. Recommended Route: I would recommend the trails that you are not allowed to ride on but you may get in trouble. Other recommended trails in the same area: Go to Ipswitch, or to Waller Mill or York River.

, from Virginia Beach Summary: The Cape Henry Trail: Where else in the universe can you ride from the Atlantic Ocean through a southern cypress swamp to the Chesapeake Bay, turn around, retrace a bit, edge a black water lake, cross a salt marsh nested by ospray, pass through a cathedral of Spanish moss and wind up on an inland bay [Linkhorn]? This is not a difficult trail, even families with children ride it, but it is a treat for the soul. During the cold months this is a good work out - you can develop some serious speed, splash through black black mud after a rain, and smack a contrary root or two. Bring a camera.
Recommended Route: Enter at 64th Street - or - at the campground stoplight on Shore Drive.
