Fire road takes you south all the way to cadinal drive. You must cross Cardinal drive, now a four lane divided highway. Caution please. Once you cross cardinal to the trail head on the other side you'll enjoy some single track. 5.2 Mile loop on that side with optional mileage available. These trails are shared with some interesting individuals, hence the name, Mars.(the RED plantet) As in rednecks. Anyway, just a little diversion from the fountain head, wakefield thing. Enjoy your stay in the lovely dale city dumfries area! Beeeeutiful!

Summary:
There ant no trail here. Maybe once there was a relly nice trail. This area has developed quite a bit sice this trail was posted. Now its just a bunch of town houses.

Recommended Route:
Get back in your car and drive to ether Quantico or Fountainhead. That's what I ended up doing.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Fountain Head. Wakefield. Quantico. Fredricsburg Quarry trails.

Summary:
Not much by California standards, but more fun than Leitch Park. Lots of hills, some creek crossings, but no real singletrack. Trails become creeks in the rain and the red mud is slippery and sticky (of course).

Recommended Route:
Explore the trails to the left (East) before you cross Cardinal. Take the fire road down the hill, then turn left at the burned-out car. This is the best part of the area, in my opinion. I didn't think much of the South side of Cardinal.
