Perimeter trail (South)
0 reviews 0 of 5
A mixture of single track and old dual track jeep trails that parallels NM 501 just W of the lab. The trail is a pleasant ride in semi-open forested areas that were untouched by the Cerro Grande fire. It's generally less rocky and technical than many of the other trails found around Los Alamos.

It connects with Water Canyon Trail, CaƱon de Valle, Pajarito Canyon trail, and Nail trail. It's a great way to connect all these various trails up for an extended ride. Sometimes locally known as reverse traverse.

Route Name: South Perimeter trail
Description

Starting at the lab parking lot for S-site. There is a nice parking lot and it's easy to find (last major block of lab buildings before you hit NM4). Trail travels over to the Pajarito Canyon/Nail trail area. This cuts off the section from water canyon to S-site.
