Bayo Canyon Trail
1 reviews 3 of 5
Trail starts at the parking area just past first roundabout at Diamond/San Ildefonso. Initially, a single track, it splits into two parallel trails after a few hundred feet. The trails parallel each other only yards apart initially separated by a small depression. This depression grows until it becomes Bayo canyon, with steep vertical walls separating the two sides. Gradually, both trails pick their way along the canyon until they reach the bottom. There, a crossover (at roughly 35 53.681 - 106 16.083) joins the two separate trails and you can ride up the other side back to the parking area. Parking area is at ~7300ft, bottom of canyon is ~6800 ft. Instead of crossing over, you can continue down a dirt road at the bottom of the canyon to Pueblo Canyon road and ultimately to NM502 near the cutoff to White Rock.
