Downhiller Summary: The Spencer lake trails have been totally re-worked, and the Forest service has been letting everything stay, so disregard all the earlier statements. If you love the freeride scene, this is one excellent trail system!

Downhiller Summary: This was a pretty cool ride considering that everything was torn down and burned last summer. There is some cool new stuff being buiolt there. Recommended Route: ride up the road and take your pick of singletracks. Other recommended trails in the same area: Big Mountain Ski Resort

Downhiller Summary: If what I hear is true and everything has been demolished, then it truly is a sad day. I have since moved back to NC, but Spencer Mountain is the place where I fell back in love with riding after a long hiatus. We worked hard to make that place challenging, technical, and above all, FUN! Sad, That's all I can say.

Downhiller Summary: R.I.P. Spencer Lake. Disregard any previous reviews mentioning technical DH riding. The Montana Department of Natural Resources just obliterated years of hard work and creativity by the local freeride scene. The DNRC only cares because they may soon lease the land to real estate developers. Recommended Route: Same as all the other reviews, but now bring your XC bike, not your freeride vessel. Other recommended trails in the same area: Killer XC riding everywhere, but we have to go to Canada to freeride.

Cross Country Rider
, from cordova, tn Summary: lots of single-track and great rewards
for not a lot of work. short bursts of
energy and some confidence with technical
skills are a must. Recommended Route: i rode straight up to the top and straight
down to the bottom entirely on the single
track trail. Other recommended trails in the same area: anything here is better than most places in the country so enjoy it.
