Cross Country Rider Summary: (Feb 22, 08) The USFS has almost completed the logging contract on the south side of Shell Canyon. The Bench Trail is slated for major reconstruction this spring and summer. According to the Fed's it may be open for biking in late August or early September. The trail will never be like it was in the past due to the logging, but at least we'll have it back after two years of impatiently waiting for the logging contractor to finish the project. Let's hope the Fed's & the trail re-construction team do it justice. RIDE, RIDE, RIDE :) Recommended Route: See other reviews. Other recommended trails in the same area: The 50 mile loop from Antelope Butte / Sibley Lake / Antelope Butte. (contact Tom or Todd for route) The Hurryback loop, Devils Canyon, Bucking Mule Falls. There is plenty of riding to be had on the Big Horn National forest. :)

Weekend Warrior Summary: This trail offers the most diverse terrain I've ever seen in one trail. It varies from dusty singletrack, to granite covered rock gardens. The trail mostly down hill after the initial up hill that is fairly steep. The only other up hill climbs are extremely short. The trail has slow technical terrain towards the bottom, but the upper section is all out downhill fun. Never had as much fun on a trail as I do on this one. Definitely a good choice. Recommended Route: From Dayton take U.S. 14 towards shell, Turn off at the Ranger Creek turn off, Park and ride to the hills, a two track takes off to the south from the main dirt road, cross the bridge and follow the wooden fence west for a short distance(100 yds) the trail takes off from there with the up hill. Other recommended trails in the same area: The Tongue River Canyon Trail. Takes off from Freeze Out point.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Great single track! Lots of flowing turns.
Its not real technical untill the end .The scenery changes from dark forest to Moab like vistas of Schell canyon. I will be back! Recommended Route: Ride the 10 mi down ride the road back to the trailhead.Shuttles are easier but not as satisfying. Stop at Schell Falls and have a soda on the way up!

, from wyoming worland Summary: the bench trail is the coolest ride i have ever been on yet, im only 14 and i got into mtn biking a year ago and i gotta say, this trail really helped me gain some experience over my homies. there are some downed trees to watch for, i wish that they would start having the DH races on that trail again. it rocks Other recommended trails in the same area: giggle berry trail, down by the river in worland, me and a few friends put in some bridges over trees and stuff like that, its acutally a circut and we plan to hold races there this summer, Ride On!

, from Houston, TX Summary: Beau's right. This trail rocks, not only because it's mostly DOWNhill, but it's variety keeps you psyched the whole way. Watch out for downed trees across the trail. I hauled my bike all the way from Texas to ride this trail and it was well worth it. Beginners should avoid this trail, expecially the lower part. Recommended Route: one way, top to bottom.
