The WinMan Trail is a brand new silent sports area comprised of 1,300 acres of state and private land in the town of Winchester near Manitowish Waters. The land is a moraine feature with a clay sand soil that packs like concrete, and ranges from smooth to super rocky. Most of the trails are machine built and flow beautifully, ranging from beginner to expert, taking advantage of moderate but steep terrain. The master plan is to have 12-15 miles of single track in by 2015. As of now we have a 3 mile beginner loop completed and by the end of summer 2014 will have a 5 mile intermediate/expert loop and another 5 mile intermediate loop stacked. Coming out of the highest point will be four downhill/flow trails, loaded with berms and drops, ranging from beginner to expert. There are many more miles of ski trails and six foot wide snowshoe trails to ride on as well. The WinMan Trail is a project though the North Lakeland Discovery Center. We are on the way, for many, to Copper Harbor and Marquette in the U.P....Come check us out!!!

Summary:
Flowy, machine built single track for all skill levels, with B lines and side loops to keep the experts happy. I am the trail builder so I am quite biased but come check it out!! We will be resuming construction spring of 2014...come say hi.

Recommended Route:
Follow the yellow loop to the purple loop (aka "Lake" loop) to the orange connector loop. From here you can choose from 3 ways down the "mountain", all are fast and flowy, to the parking lot. A 5 mile intermediate loop will be completed by fall.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Copper Harbor, Marquette, Raven Trail in Minocqua
