Ridden Trail: Once a week

Cross Country Rider Summary: This trail is actually decent, but is in disrepair and segmented. I hope to clear some of the logs and add a bridge or two by summers end. Some of the trail has been or will be destroyed by soulless sprawlers(fern gully and the y camp area are now privately held). There's two chunks down by the river(near the river damn and the Nepco damn) still available(off Cty Z) between fern gully and Y camp. The majority of the trail is to the East of the Hwy. 13 bridge on the North and South shores of Nepco Lake. There are roots and narrow spots in the trail with a little steepness to provide some challenge and pleasure. Recommended Route: We usually start off at the South Side entrance that is just past the Hwy 13 bridge by the Welcome to Rapids marquee. There are a couple of single tracks that go East following the lake or a ridge. Eventually you have to cross Four Mile Creek at a log crossing. This is where the trail gets tricky, thanks to "lets put houses everywhere" mentality. This chunk needs a chainsaw bad too. After crossing head West towards the point. The trails in this immediate area offer some of the best trails around. Ideally you'll find your way out to Crystal Brook. Off of Griffith, on your left(south) right after the Four Mile Creek bridge, is the entrance for the ramaining trail around Nepco. We used to ride from town, hit up the airport trail, river trail, cty z trail, fire road Y camp trail to the South Side entrance, but selfish greedy maniacs said, "f yo couch". We usually park @ Nepco and ride the highway divider to the South Side/Shore entrance and loop it back to the lot. Other recommended trails in the same area: standing rocks, nine mile, and of course levis(but don't go there).
