Summary:
I rode Rock Lake in June of 2008. It had a really nice balance between tight and flowing. Instead of having killer climbs, the elevation changes are more gradual and fun to ride. I am highly impressed with the thought that went into the layout. One of my favorite trails.

Recommended Route:
Sorry, don't know it well enough to say.

Summary:
This trail is the best single track in Northern WI, maybe in the whole Midwest. CAMBA has done a great job the past two years building new IMBA standards trails and moving the route off the X-country ski trails. We stayed at the Zugspitze Inn at Garmisch USA Resort (great bar) and rode one mile to the Namakagon Town Hall Trailhead. The new single track begins here and connects to the Rock Lake Tail Loop. The technical single track will challenge any rider. Trails are well marked. Do yourself a favor and ride this trail. You won't regret it. Any previous trail reviews are obsolete. It's all good now.

Recommended Route:
Start at Namakagon Town Hall Trailhead (corner of Hwy M and D). Look for trailhead behind the gas pumps. Stay on Namakagon Trail to trail marker N32. Turn right and follow Glacier Trail to Rock Lake Trail- head. Follow Rock Lake Trail to N8 and turn right. Take Hilderbrand Lake Loop to N12 and turn left. At N11 turn right. Make another right at N31 and then left at N32. Now you'll be back on the Namakagon Trail. Follow back to trailhead or if you are getting tired, turn left when you cross the gravel road and take the gravel two miles to Highway M.

Summary:
My Husband and I rode the Rock Lake Trail two years ago, and the view was gorgeous, and it was a fun and aerobic ride that took you around the lake. We went this past weekend again and the trail was closed to mountain bikers and there was a new one formed. So we experienced the NEW "Rock Lake Trail". Funny, we only saw the lake once, the rest of the ride just took us through the woods, and a gravel road. We were very disapointed. We drove 5 hours to get there, one thing is for sure it was not worth the drive. To give the trail builders credit, the single track was decent. It does not compare to the way it used to be.

Summary:
Ignore the bozo who reports that the trail is gone. It is being re-routed as an improvement. The old Rock Lake was as stated by another rider the best ride in Wisconsin. Well .... it's going to be even better!!! Check out the first 4-5 miles of re-route completed so far - you'll be back!!!!

Recommended Route:
Ride any compination of trails in the cluster and you won't be dissapointed. Pick up a map at any of the local bike shops or trail heads, or go to www.cambatrails.org for online maps.
