, from GB/Milw Summary: not an MTB trail, but flat limestone-surfaced state rail to trail converted lane, 20+ miles, and not "single track" by any means. the western 1/3 is most scenic, the rest relatively boring. runs thru towns, u can stop by some of their hicktown parks & refuel on H2O. i rode it spring '99, & plan to return once more '03 season along w/ the 3 other connecting trails, mostly for endurance base sprint workout & some scenery. don't bother if u only dig obstacles & hillwork; in my opinion every kind of terrain has its place in the consummate athlete's repertoire. cheers. Recommended Route: runs east-west from around LaX-Trempealeau area east to Sparta, connects to elroy-sparta trail on east, to great river trail on west. el-sp trail, in turn, connects to '400' trail so u can punch in close to 100 miles one way, if not more, in a single shot w/o dealing w/ motorized traffic! Other recommended trails in the same area: Perrot SP MTB tr is surprisingly aerobic for a state park trail, quite unique
