Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

, from Minneapolis Summary: The one time we rode this trail we got completely lost and had to backtrack out. After the singletrack sections open out to the "frost pockets", there are some unmarked intersections. We were not sure which way to go, so we tried our best to follow the map. The problem is that there are criss-crossing ATV trails everywhere, so it is easy to lose the trail. Nevertheless, the trail was extremely fun! In the time we spent in the Cable area we rode several trails, and this and Rock Lake were the best (the most singletrack). This trail is fun because you really get the sense that you're out in the wilderness, which creates an "epic ride" feeling of adventure. There are some very fun technical singletrack sections and some screaming double-track descents. I heard that CAMBA will be adding more singletrack to their extensive trail system in the coming years. If that happens, this area is destined to become a serious MTB destination! As it is now, this area is well worth the drive from the Twin Cities. Recommended Route: Start at the trail head and bring a map. Try to follow the CAMBA signs. Other recommended trails in the same area: Ride Rock Lake, for sure! Sleigh Trail was also fun.
