The River Trail (Bonzai)

Technical singletrack with little climbing. Lots of tricky sections to test your skills. Bonzai is a well known local area for jumping. Best thing in the city.

Summary:
Pretty good single track for WI, great if you live downtown Milwaukee. No huge climbs, but lots of little off shoot trails with short technical climbs and rock gardens to be found.

I live in CO now and used to ride this all the time in WI.

Summary:
This is a pretty good trail considering it's location. It's much longer than anything else I've found without leaving the city. I wouldn't worry about getting mugged, I see single women walking dogs along the trail all the time. Broken glass could be a problem, I usually bring a cellphone.

Recommended Route:
I get on at the northwest corner of the north avenue bridge. Take that north all the way to Port Washington, then cross and take the east side back. This way you can take the bike path if you need to get back quick.

Summary:
read my review for 'joel's river adventure' for expert connoisseur's analysis. again, no hills on this one. great way to improve bike handling skills, though. by the time u finish biking this trail, you'll see every kind of drug addiction known to man. cool off in sewer feces when u lose control. don't 4get 2 bring hazmat suit. seeing the geese w/ their young was a treat, but i won't be coming back here anytime soon.

Summary:
Watch out... If you ride this trail you could be in deep trouble from the WORBA Gestapo. Actually, you are probably in trouble already for reading reviews of this trail!!!! lol!!! It's a good ride in the heart of Brew-city. You really can't expect a better ride for the locale. The bad part about it is broken glass on the trail. Just keep and eye out, and all will be fine. I never ride alone, but have run into chic's riding alone. Use your best judgement riding a $1000 bike around a city trail!

Recommended Route:
I hop on the trail at Port Washington and Green Bay Rd. There is a drop in right at the corner, next to the stairs. Then ride down to North ave, hop on the other side of the river and ride all the way back to Green Bay.

Summary:
I have riddin most almost every trail within a 40 mile radius of Milwaukee, and this is the only one that can hold my interest. I you are ready for a technical trail, this is the closest one you will find next to Colorado

Recommended Route:
You can pick the trail up at North Ave on the east or west bank on the river
