Ridden Trail: Once a week

Cross Country Rider Summary: It was a nice surprise to find this little trail as a nice diversion from the Green Circle. Having singletrack available nearby comes in handy when you don't have time to travel farther away. This is a very technically challenging little trail, especially the bridge. (It's not in particularly good shape, so beware) Surprisingly, there's a bit of relief with some short, steep climbs. With all due respect to the creators, though, this isn't especially well-designed singletrack. This is a trail where a 70 degree turn is immediately followed by a 12% grade climb. A trail can be too cute for its own good, and this one gets a bit too cute. The best singletrack trails - Rock Lake, Nine Mile, etc. aren't like this and are a mix of technical challenge and extended cruises. This one lacks the latter. A good first effort by amateur trailmakers, though. Fortunately, you don't have to travel far to find really good singletrack. Ten miles out of Point is Standing Rocks, where a local group has done an exceptional job putting together about 14 miles of singletrack. The trailmakers at Standing clearly had some training and/or experience designing singletrack and it shows. Only $20 gets you a season pass. Other recommended trails in the same area: Nine Mile, Rocks
