Weekend Warrior Summary: Very cool, especially being in downtown madison. Cool singletrack on the outer rim. I've been there a few times and its definitely worth checking out. Not too technical but it is challenging in spots. Lots of jumps too.

Cross Country Rider Summary: I learned about this trail system after reading the trail reviews on mtbr. Yesterday was really the first day that I was able to ride 95% off all the trails. There's still a little snow on the ground. The trails that run east and west along the ridges are the most challenging. Sweeping turns with short, steep downhills and uphills. It's very important to maintain speed, especially if you're on a single speed (like me). Some of the trails are moderately technical. Rocks, roots, a few log rides, small table-tops, a few drops, all added sporadically throughout the trail system. It's not a very big network of trails but bigger than you'd expect. And, there's enough spider trails that you can always reroute yourself and make it more interesting. No doubt an excellent place to go for riders in Madison. Recommended Route: Take the outer trails along the ridges for a moderately technical, fun ride. Otherwise, follow the trails all over and explore. Other recommended trails in the same area: This is my first season riding in WI, but I've heard Blue Mounds and Kettle Moraine are two very popular destinations.

Downhiller Summary: its kick ass. be better if we could make
some log rides and stuff but the city would just come in and trash it.
+ some of the people that live by the park would love to see it closed to bikers. I think its time for WORBA to help us out Recommended Route: out side loop, playground, Other recommended trails in the same area: devilshead , or thers plenty of stuff
to huck off of down town and the UW.

, from Madison, WI Summary: I would say Quarry park is a great stop for the day if you're in the downtown Madison area. It has lots of big drops and fun table top jumps (if you can handle the speed you need to hit them) albeit it is more or less flat. I would say you could have fun for a good couple hours out there just finding new lines to hit. But be ready for all the peddling you're going to do to keep your speed up. I wouldn't say there is any single track out there, it's more park style. Lots of 10-20 foot rises and drop-in style drops. Some good stumps and log riding for you trials riders. Recommended Route: There are a few good routes, but you just have to ride and go where your nose takes you. Other recommended trails in the same area: La Crosse, La Crosse, La Crosse, La Crosse!

, from Madison Summary: What more can I say that others haven't? Bring water, wear protective gear. Lots of sharp pointy rocks covering the trails, along with slippery roots. It's called Quarry park because it WAS a quarry. When I go there (which I've been doing for the past 7 years) I can't help but bike to utter exhaustion ... it's just too much fun. Very, very technical single track, along with many log rides and jumps. And more trail is being added regularly. Just coming back this spring (after a slow season last year due to bike repairs) I was amazed at the amount of new trail they've managed to fit into this park. And it's all done by locals. The city does come in and tear down erected stunts, so there's not really any of that anymore. Its acreage is deceptive, there's waaaaay more trail in Quarry than you'd think there is. Mostly I just wanted to help raise the parks rating a bit after that (confusing) 3-star rating. Recommended Route: The edge loop. (Just keep sticking to the trails on the edge of the park) Other recommended trails in the same area: I'd reccommend a couple if'n they weren't illegal to ride at.
