Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Weekend Warrior Summary: Very flat, no rocks, no roots, no stumps, no nothing on the trails, just grass. Singletrack? I rode around all over the park looking for it and I couldn't find any. I was disappointed, but I was in the mood for something challenging. It would be a good place to go with family. Extremely easy kid stuff, but it does have good views. I would recommend it, but not if you are looking for more than a relaxing bike ride.

, from Naperville, IL Summary: Nice training when I go to the Dells, Riding distance from The Wilderness , and Great Wolf. These are beginning to intermedidate trails, nothing too challenging. Very flat terrain, watch some of the downhills have sand at the bottom to make things interesting. Make sure to buy a trail pass, they are part of the DNR. Recommended Route: All of Trails are in good shape. Take all of the trails. Other recommended trails in the same area: Devils Head , John Muir (Kettle Morraine), 400 trail (rails to trail)

, from Racine, WI Summary: These are fun trails that are used for x-crounty skiing so they get a little wider every year. Not very technical so good for the beginner and families. The rolling hills and grassy surface offer excellent cardio training. There are some sandy spots so be careful. The trail is maintained by the Bleu Moon Mountain Bike Society of Baraboo, WI (see WORBA's web page). The BMMBS is in the process of making some single track sections that have a lot of tight switch backs and logs to ride over. These are not open to the public yet, but if you see some other riders out there, ask them about the trail because they are probably members of the BMMBS. I am a member and have ridden these trails alot, including the single track. They are a lot more fun than you would think and a good relief from all the tourist traps in Wisconsin Dells. Ride Safe and have Fun. Recommended Route: Go out of the parking lot by the ranger station check-in and across the street is the trail head. Vrious choices of loops so just go. Other recommended trails in the same area: Devil's Head

, from Madison, Wi Summary: This is a lightly used trail, even on most weekends. The trail is great for beginners and families. The terrain and trail is very forgiving with few rocks and other obstacles. Suspension is not required. Wildlife abounds if your the first on the trail. A great rolling, wooded trail with some views. While the trail lacks the challenges of more technical single track, it provides a good high speed aerobic challenge. The trail follows a double hour glass shape creating three loops. The necks are at two road crossings that allow road access back to the park entrance station. Rating on the quiet, scenic, wooded, solitude the trail offers. What off-road recreational trail riding is all about. Recommended Route: Park at the Park Entrance Station parking lot. Trail starts at the southwest corner of the town road park exit intersection across from the entrance station. Trail runs counter clockwise. Other recommended trails in the same area: Devils Lake State Park, Devils Head Ski Resort, boith about 15 miles south. Also Black River State Forest 40-50 miles north.
