This may well be the finest trail in all of Stevens Point. There are several groomed trails as well as a few single tracks that will challenge even the most experienced riders with boulders, stumps, and creek crossings. At the very eastern edge of the trail system you will find "IT." "IT" is for those of us that prefer air travel over hardpack travel. You'll know "IT" when you see "IT." While visiting "IT," please be sure say hi to Kiki, mollest Matilda, give Bertha a big, Ron Jeremy hello. (You'll understand when you see "IT.") Corky the Nurse is always behind Bertha to catch you with her soft, leafy limbs when your bike has a mind of its own.

Summary:
Everyone should know the trail known as "IT" is part of the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. The Green Cirle Trail that meanders around Stevens Point breaks off into trails throughout Schmeekle. The first entry of the "IT" trail was in 1999. Since then alot of work has gone into Schmeekle. The trails are set up for hikers and walkers more than bikers. Most of the singletrack throughout the reserve has been covered over on purpose by UWSP staff. This is to make sure the wildlife in the area is protected from those who may not truely appreciate it.

Recommended Route:
Locate the Loop Of Reflections and take your time biking through. Stop at the treehouse for a water break and remember what it used to be like as a kid hanging out in a huge pinetree.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Standing Rocks, you gotta get there for some great single-track.

Summary:
I found the groomed trails to be very beginner-ish and heavily travelled. There were few differences between these trails and riding pavement. There were, however, several single tracks that were very technical. These trails were travelled much lighter, which gave me the chance to enjoy the solitude of the reserve. Finally, at the end of the Lake Trail, I found "IT." "IT" is a big hill with three jumps, ranging from 2 feet to 6 feet high, each landing on the downslope of the hill. The biggest jump, Bertha, launches you into a small pine grove with a single track landing/trail complete with birmed, hair-pin turn which spins you out of the woods and off the backside of Kiki, the smallest jump. This is one of the neatest quarter-mile tracks I've seen in a long time.

Recommended Route:
For really, really big air, chech "IT" out. "IT" is pretty hard to find, with the creek crossing and all, but it's well worth finding.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Right now the only other trail I know of around here is Nine Mile State Park, but right now people are trying to ban biking there. Myself and the people I ride with have decided to stay clear for a while in hopes that the opposers will see that we have as much respect for the land as do hikers, horseback riders, and cross country skiers.
