Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Weekend Warrior Summary: Decided to go riding yesterday and the single track along the river was covered in leaves. With the leaves the climbs are tough. Its a fun little trail but the single track is way to short. Fun if you live in the area but not worth driving to. Being so short it cant keep you busy real long. If you ride it hard its a bit of fun though. Recommended Route: the trail is just west of hwy 53 on the south side of the Eau Claire river.

Ridden Trail: Once a month

, from Madison, WI Summary: These trails are fine for a relaxing ride or beginners, but overall, they're lame. Most of the trail is paved (rails to trails). The gnats are horrendous in spring and summer. Other recommended trails in the same area: Lowes Creek is a much better time, and not too far away. There's also a nice little set of trails behind Oakwood Mall. If you have the cajones, there's a wicked downhill that's about 5-6 stories high leading straight into the mall parking lot.

Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Reviewed by: Steve
, from Eau Claire, WI Summary: Best way to get to this trail is from Altoona. From Spooner take Willson north. Turn left on dirt road just after railroad tracks and follow to end at river. Nice single track along river, sometimes right at edge of steep bank of river. Not ridden much so its more of footpath for people fishing. Lots of sand when you get away from the river. Four wheelers have churned up those sandy trails pretty badly. Perhaps a mile or two of nice trail. Lots of nice trails over by Otter Creek (not Lowes Creek), but these trails have signs stating no cycling. Too bad because they are much nicer. Recommended Route: From railroad bridge go upstream Other recommended trails in the same area: Trails at Lowes Creek park aren't the best. The Chippewa River trail is an old railroad right of way (read flat and wide). Would love to hear of other trails in the area!
