Trails at Glenwood Park

Average Rating:    (3 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 1

Singletrack trails: Lakeside, Lakeview (how original), Misty Mountain trail--behind of shelter 6, and a series of small trail sections that criss cross the park. Best riding is with someone that knows how to loop these trails. Several sections offer nice rock gardens and technical steep climbs. Very nice variety of riding

a couple of decent trails, nice for an hour or so of riding but not much more.

Recommended Route:
typically, park at the 4H Camp, short ride up gravel access road until you see an orange marker flag on your right . . . take that trail, semi-technical, very rocky single track, this trail will eventually put you back on the same gravel road about 20 yards from where you entered (you can actually ride this trail either direction) . . . from there continue up gravel road to asphalt park loop (or take short trail section across the gravel road to asphalt park loop) . . . take asphalt road uphill and back around to playground area, pass playground area and cross small bridge, follow along lake edge until you reach second clearing, at this point decide if you prefer shin crushing rocks or climbing . . . trail continues along edge of lake until you cross dam and end at 4H Camp. Total ride is approx 5 Miles depending on trail connector choices, etc.

If i get bored with this loop i'll park at playground, ride lake trail to gravel road to single track and back along asphalt loop road.

excellent riding if you're looking to spend an hour or so on the way home from work or don't have a lot of time to ride.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
pipestem (various trails)
bluefield city park (various trails)
