Holly River S.P

Ride starts with improved fire road for about 4 miles..averaged 14 mph. Takes right onto unimproved logging road. Day I rode was wet and boggy...hard uphill slog 4-6 mph. The trail covers 12 miles mostly old logging road. On a dry day would be great to run it backward starting near the campground. Riders could also continue out fireroads and back for longer easier route. EAT at the Holly River S.P restaurant after....awesome!

Went to holly river state park in Webster Springs for the first time yesterday. I was a little disappointed, then happy once the ride finally started. - There is about three miles of climbing before reaching the begining of the trails if you start at the Cabin Parking Area.

Once we got to the top, our group took the Potato Knob Trail. The trails are pretty well marked with spray painted trees in three diff colors. BLUE YELLOW or RED depending on the intercrossing trail paths.

Potato Knob is a lot of old (what I consider) jeep trails and eventually turns into some technical singletrack about one or two miles before it ends.

Recommended Route:
There are many routes Road Route or Potato Knob seem to be able to be done by just about anyone, while it can be technical if you want to go fast :)

P.S. The location marker for this review is waaaaaay off by about ten miles....
