Summary:
These trails are full of speeding ATV's. Great network of trails; variation of smooth cranking it out sections to technical rocky rooty hope you got good disc brake sections. It was hard to enjoy the riding with constantly feeling someone traveling over 30 MPH on a ATV would run up your back or head you head on. The pass is not too bad if you have an ATV. Best mountain biking in the southern-Mid Atlantic--Snowshoe Mountain, Brush Mountain--Montgomery County VA, numerous little parks and other areas throughout WV/VA/NC.

Summary:
If you want to Mountain Bike then the best trail right now at Hatfield-McCoy os the Little Coal River System which is 20 miles South of Charleston WV. It is a great system for Mountain Biking. Once you get past trail 10 which is the entry trail, it is the best Mountain Biking in the State of WV if not the East Coast.

Summary:
Me and my friends was planning this trip for a long time and was totally suprised when we started. The site showed trails and paths to ride, but we only found atv's trails and massive hills to walk more then we rode. The only thing that even came close to a good ride was going down trail 94 which was very rough and slick. That was really the only thing that came close to mountain biking up there. The 4 wheelers was asking us why we was up riding up here because there was only steep hills we walked up. We did the easyest trail up there and we pushed our bikes 90% of the time. I think the permit pass was a joke to $35 to push bikes through the mountain's. I feel that the pass should be less for bikers. So my take on the trail was very disappointing and a big waste of money. So would you do everybody else a favor and stop showing mountain biking in the mags.

Recommended Route:
There really ins't any trails to ride up there.
