CVI Trail System

Average Rating:    (5 of 5)

The CVI trails are awesome for all ages and skill levels. A great place to learn and for those who have the skills, use these trails as a warm up to Moonrocks and HooDoo rocks. Just stop in a Blackwater Bikes to get a map and directions. The Moonrocks and HooDoo rocks loop is awesome when you throw in the CVI trail, especially get on Yellow Creek Trail a rocky terror.

Summary:
I just road this trail for the first time and I loved it. The trail system was very well done. Moonrocks was beyond my climbing skill but I made it up one of the two strip mines. I was just feeling good about myself on the way down the hoodoos when I had a good crash. I had a blast. I wish I was a better rider for such an awesome trail system.

Recommended Route:
I started at the trailhead after the bridge behind the grocery store and went thru moodrocks and the hoodoos. I had to take Camp Rd 70 back for the sake of time. BTW- the trail is very well marked.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
I know these are on the easier side but I really enjoy Club Run, Middle Ridge and Backhollow in CVSP.

Summary:
Awesome trail system. Just part of the fantastic riding around the quaint little town of Davis WV.

Recommended Route:
Park in lot near grocery store or near the bike shop and take Camp70 Rd. across the bridge. There are two trail heads near the first turn in the road. Get a map from Blackwater Bikes and enjoy. If you want to look at a map online or see photos this system was previously listed as Davis/Canaan XC Course. Look at that listing to see more info.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Yellow Birch, Davis Trail, Plantation, Fire Break, Green Trail, North Point Express, "Son-of-Plantation" (most awesome), Lindy, and many many more. See the bike shop for more details. They have an awesome map.

They rating is for Moonrocks, HooDoo rocks and Yellow Creek. If less experience riders stay on the main CVI trails it's a great place to learn.
