Awesome WV Singletrack, roots rocks---all the good stuff.
Summary: Use Pocahontas Trail from the Cranberry visitors center to start a great loop. If you look over at Rt.150 (Scenic Hwy.) you will see a gate about 200 feet up the road on the left. That is where you will come out at the end of this awesome 18 mile loop.
Uses part of Pocahontas Trail, part of Kennison Mtn. Trail, South Mountain trail, Cow Pasture Trail and about 1/2 mile of grassy Fire Rd.
Recommended Route: Take Pocahontas Trail from Cranberry Vistors Center, after reaching the top of the mountain you will ride along the top for a little while.
Take a right on Kennison Mtn. Trail. Stay straight when you see Blue
Knob trail, cross Rt.39 / 55 and stay on Kennison Mtn. Trail. After
about 1/2 mile you will come to a grassy logging road, (south mountain
trail), go right at this point and follow this road. It is nearly singletrack as it hasn't been used in years. About 1/3 of the way down
the mountain you will come to a hard switchback and the end of the road
which changes into true singletrack. Follow this trail to the bottom of the mountain. You will come out on Cranberry River Trail, cross this road onto Cow Pasture Trail, follow Cow Pasture till you come to
a large like field and a "T" intersection on an old grass covered blacktop road. Trail goes right HOWEVER, you go left and follow this
grassy fire road for about 1/2 mile. It will come out at a gate on the
Scenic Hwy. directly across from the Vistors Center and then return to
your vehicle. Approx. 18 miles total.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Kennison Mtn. Trail from Frosty Gap and loop back via Fire Road.
All the trails in the Tea Creek / Gauley Mountain area.

Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Summary: We were worried the water was too high, and we wouldn't be able to cross the creek, 'cause of all the rain. These are some of the nicest trails I have ever ridden in West. Va.---technical, but fast, beautiful scenery and relatively untraveled, so they aren't really played. I'm not sure why I'm even telling about them, since they are so pristine and should stay that way, please use nice riding habits, like not skidding and eroding everything. PLEASE DON"T LITTER
Recommended Route: What an awesome trail! We rode it to the Falls (lovely) and came back on the road, but you could cross the road and do a huge loop.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Tea Creek Mountain, Red Run, Bear Pen (Up near Slatyfork)
