Cross Country Rider Summary: Bakers is nice intermediate ground. The perfect place to go big ring it for an afternoon. I go to school at WVU and ride on the cycling team there and bakers is a nice place to hit up after class. Lots of singletrack that's relatively flat with a few technical sections here or there to keep things interesting, and the only climb is to get up to the trialhead. The place never dries out so be prepared to get a little dirty.

Cross Country Rider Summary: The trail is not marked and I was riding alone and I hardly found 5 miles, let alone the possible 10 miles of this trail. Most of the time I was trying to be careful not to stray into private lands. Still, this place has a lot of potential. 3 chillis from me because it is not very friendly for someone from out of town (I'm from lower Michigan, check out the well maintained trails by MMBA if you happen to be in the area).

, from Charleston,WV Summary: Baker's is great. It offers a variety of terrain for all levels. Granted, it is wet and muddy year-round, but that's half the fun! The initial hillclimb is the worst part of the day. After that, there are rolling hills, fast tracks, and tons of well made jumps. If you look hard enough, and ride there often, you will find a few downhills tucked away that remind us all why it is we ride! I suggest full suspension, wet lube, plenty of water, knowledge of poison ivy, and the ability to spot the notorious stump at the bottom that has the ability to ruin your day! Recommended Route: same as others Other recommended trails in the same area: Bunner's ridge, white park, little sandy river

, from Columbia, SC Summary: It's starts off with a mild uphill and goes into some more uphill. Once you've gotten your workout going up and you're at the top then there are tons of places to go and they're semi-flat and a lot of fun. Mostly single track trails and coming down is the best.

, from Morgantown WV Summary: I wanted to correct an error in Ralph's directions. At the bottom of the hill at the stop sign turn right, not left. Go down 2 or 3 tenths of a mile and look for the blue University sign on the left marking the entrance to the trail. I prefer the single track trails in this area to those at Cooper's Rock State Park because they're a lot less rocky on the steep sections. The surface of the main trail is crushed rolled stone which can be ridden very fast. Lots of standing mud puddles, even in dry weather. Recommended Route: same as above Other recommended trails in the same area: Decker's Creek Rail Trail. Quarry Run.
