Dougs Trail

This is a Work In Progress....Doug has put the blood sweat and tears into what has been accomplished so far...I have put about 3 hours into an S curve that is close to being wide enough.

All in all, it is a reclaimed jeep path/deer trail with a circuit of new trail on the top of the hill. This is not a smooth, wellpacked singletrack to cruise on. It's bumpy, rough, not for the faint of heart. Just want to be honest about that. But, as stated before, its being worked on. What we really need (besides volunteers to run shovels and rakes) is people to come ride...to help pack in the trail, and keep the weeds at bay this spring.

The view is INCREDIBLE once you get on top. You can see the North side of Dayton, and a nice vista of the Jolly Green Giant on the opposing hillside. The most incredible thing about this trail for those of us who live nearby is....its nearby.....

To get there....if you are eastbound, coming from WW or tricities, just as you are getting into Dayton (right after you go down to 35 MPH) you will turn right into the Port of Dayton. (Portway Rd ) make sure you are not blocking any local business/city property in a way that will get you towed, and then go up the hill behind the buildings. If you cant find the trailhead from there, I cant help you.

We really hope people are going to come ride. In fact, as an incentive, everyone who comes to town and rides the trail will get themselves one complimentary donut from me at the local bakery. Think im blowing smoke? Email me at BTWill83@gmail.com just get on your bikes and ride!
