Summary:
Fun and fast. Downhill is from the south heading northeast. Many creek crossings, general not high from mid July on.

Check out my Devils Gulch video's on my Youtube playlist. The other trails in the area are also in these video's.

Summary:
This trail and Mission Ridge are currently closed. A fire in 2012 meant wash outs and downed trees......for miles. Even if they open it up I can't see it being ride-able for some time. Check local ranger station (before driving 5 hours).
Obviously we were unable to ride this route so my comments on "difficulty" etc are here only to submit the warning.

Summary:
Just did a loop up Mission Ridge today and down Devil's Gulch. Everyone we talked to does it the other way, but if you are willing to do a couple of hike-a-bike sections this way is great. The views on Mission Ridge are worthwhile and Devil's Gulch is a ton of fun to rip down.

Recommended Route:
Up Mission Ridge, down Devil's Gulch. Mostly due to the fact that Devil's Gulch seems like a way more fun trail to ride down. Mission ridge has a bunch of straight steep sections, where I prefer the windy flow found of DG.

Summary:
I think the other reviews hit the main points, but I think they miss the cutural aspects of the ride. The approach to Devils is lined with ultra-hip ideas for exterior decorating around the house. Toss a car here, a broken wash machine there...

Good downhills, lots of chance to hate your eyes... look through the danger... Steep dirt cliffs to the creek in numerous spots.

A Washington Best? Try again.

Recommended Route:
Ride the trail for a workout or cruise the road.

Summary:
For me this makes one sweet loop. Ride up Devils Gulch and down Mission Ridge trail. The trails needed some attention after the storms this year. Still makes for a killer ride.

Recommended Route:
Up Devils Gulch all the way to the road, up the road to the Mission Ridge trailhead. Down Mission Ridge back to the trail crossing. At this point, those that want the easier way down can just go back DG. For the adventurous, up Mission ridge (down really)is the ticket. Even in dry and dusty condition like this year it's sweet singletrack.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Basalt Ridge
Mad Lakes
