Whipple Creek

Short, steep climbs and descents with some longer gradual hills make this trail a good one for a short ride. The entire trail network is a spiderweb, so there are tons of variations on the main loop.

This is a decent trail in the summer after it dries out. Most of the year it is nearly too muddy to ride. The best thing about this trail is it's close proximity to I-5 near Vancouver, WA. Shared with horses. Park on 21st Ave or 31st Ave.

Summary:
Truth about muddy. Borderline unridable through most of the winter. Twice this winter it was dry for about two weeks+ so a partner and I went up. I live less than 5 miles away. It was good through about 90%. A couple of hills with a lot of erosion from horses were slogged, otherwise pretty good. If you ride in wet months, try to do the 'high' loop. Stay out of the ravine and should be great fun.

Recommended Route:
Winter: stay in the upper parts
Summer: rip it all up!

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Larch Mtn, Tarbell, whatever is in good shape.

Summary:
Good but muddy untill July. I've seen a few horses on it but never any other MTBrs or Hikers. Kinda a small park but nice and close to I-5. Good trail if you want a short drive and a short ride to work off your last minute MTB jones or good for shakedown/test rides on new gear.

Recommended Route:
I park on 31st Ave because there is never any horses there. Then head to the end gate.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Lewis River Trail of course!
