Cross Country Rider Summary: If you ride up the road to trail head it is steep and around 8 miles bring food and water you still have 2 miles up trail head to get to the fun stuff. very fast downhill and really fun broke rear derailler and had to to as a single speed just at the start of downhill so no rear suspension but still one of the best rides to date. Recommended Route: Dont be a wuss and take the car to the top.... Other recommended trails in the same area: ranger creek skookum flats all in area.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Rode this trail a couple weeks ago on my vacation in WA. Parked on other side of bridge on FS Rd. 73. Ride up to trailhead was brutal on my SS. It's a steep climb but ridable for more fit riders or those with gears. More climbing on first mile of trail to ridge. Trail back down was very fun single track with great views. I rode Skookum flats back to parking area (very fun)! As much as I cursed the steep climb, the ride down was worth it. Trail was in good condition. Most trees were cleared off trail except for a couple areas. Since I was not familiar with the area, I purchased "Kissing the Trail" by John Zilly and also used info on Backcountry Biclycles Trail Club (www.bbtc.org). Recommended Route: Lots of other options in this White River area, but you have to pay to play . . . be ready to do lots of climbing to get to the epic single track. Other recommended trails in the same area: Skookum Flats

Weekend Warrior Summary: Dry and in good conditions. Long uphill climb for what seemed like a short downhill.
There are some nice views of Mt Rainier and going to the actual summit of suntop is worth the extra scenery and while you are there why not bail down from the top through the rocky section...
Repeatedly thought we were finished with climbing just to find another section of it. But ... then the swift single track dropped and was very good.

Weekend Warrior Summary: One of the better rides in an area filled with great rides. Highway 410 has 4 or 5 really great rides. This one contains a steeper forest service road climbs, as opposed to Ranger Creek across the road, but trust me, it's worth it.
Road it this weekend, completely snow free, some mud in places, but this area is always muddy thanks to Mt Rainer. Other recommended trails in the same area: Ranger Creek, Palisades

Weekend Warrior Summary: I felt it only fair to give a balance response to some of the reviews of this trial. First, let me say that I fancy myself a climber so my complaint about this trail is not the climbing in and of itself. The problem with this trail is that one climbs forever for a downhill that is just average. I will admit that the weather was awful the day I rode it - maybe I'm not being fair. It just seemed like there was just not enough reward. Sure, there were some good views, but nothing that couldn't be seen on some other local trails that are much more fun. I won't be doing this one again. Recommended Route: Skip it, do Skookum - its fun, then do Ranger or deep creek. Other recommended trails in the same area: I would do crystal mountain twice in a row before doing this trail.
