Wynooche Lake Trail
1 reviews
 2 of 5

Wynoochee Lakeshore Trail winds through a dense forest near and along the lake shore. The singletrack around Wynoochee Lake is 12 miles long and moderately difficult. There are some steep climbs, and pushing your bike will be necessary in several places. Some segments of the trail are technically demanding, while others are smooth and wide. The trail becomes exacting as it nears the north end of the reservoir. Obstacles like roots and rocks are more common, and the path switchbacks through some drainages. In places, the singletrack narrows and drops off steeply to the side. The trail crosses the Wynoochee River at the north end of the reservoir. There is no bridge, so you must ford the river to continue the loop. The scenery is lovely; the best views are at the south end of the lake. The trail offers glimpses of Anderson Ridge to the east and the Olympics to the north.

Summary:
This could be a really great trail with a little trail maintanence. Rode this trail on May 10, 2007 and had to carry the bike over many blow downs and a few washouts. Nothing to technical but a very scenic ride.
Gave this ride only a 2, but could be a 3 with some trail clearing.

Recommended Route:
Either direction around the lake from the dam.
