Trail Directions
Take Ox Road to intersection of Lee Chaple and Ox. Enter the residential neighborhood (ingnore the stupid sign, if anybody asks, you are with Zack) Go left around island to top of hill, and park in grass. Hop fence on the right and you will see a very long grassy climb. This will intersect with numerous powerline trails and a vast construction area. Get lost from there.

Summary:
Just an FYI: portions of this trail along the power lines are private property, and trespassing is prohibited. Owners of new homes who own the land under the power lines are actively asking riders to stay away.

This place sucks. Don't waste your time. Yup city. Residential with nary a tree in site. Serious dud. One tire rating only because zero isn't allowed.

Recommended Route:
the one to Fountainhead

Summary:
Head north on the power lines back up to OX...small area with jumps to the west of the park has some really fun jumps.

Recommended Route:
Might have been a blast in the past, but crotchety local soccer moms threatened to call Fairfax's finest on us...despite illegal gun-toting poachers in pickups .

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Fountain Head is a hellish, hilly road-ride from here, but worth the ride....

Summary:
This was once a decent location to ride the lines. However, Fairfax County in its wisdom, allowed another crappy developer to build huge and ugly "Mansions" spread through out what used to be a nice ride. The powerlines however, still go through, but ignoring the houses is hard to do. If you are not discouraged by the run-away development continue past the transformer station and the trail is alright. At the end of the trail turn right onto the road and go about a 1/2 mile to Fountain Head park and think of the whole expereince as a warmup!! The flavor of the trail and the intersecting gas line trails is gone! Oh well.

Recommended Route:
Start at South Run Park behind the field house and hit the powerlines

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Wakefield for a quick and close workout, Difficult Run to Reston, Avalon in MD, Elizabeth Furnace

Summary:
I've ridden this one a couple of times and it is a good workout with mostly ATV-type roads going up and down under the powerlines (hence the ruts complained of in another review). The biggest problem is the VA Power "No Trespassing" signs and fences they've put up (which are fairly easy to by-pass as long as your bike doesn't weigh 50+ pounds). You can also take this trail to Fountainhead Park and ride the trail there. If you can get past the signs and fences this is an enjoyable ride (with lots of rocks and ruts to negotiate, but will allow some speed on the downhills) but avoid it after heavy rain (the creeks fill up and huge deep puddles and large amounts of mud abound -- unless you like that kind of thing).

Recommended Route:
Start at South Run Park (go to the back by the fieldhouse, ride the cement path down a few hundred yards until you reach the powerlines, then go either left (harder ride) or right).

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Fountainhead
