Weekend Warrior Summary: First off, I am a beginner. Some of this trail is perfect for beginners, but a good portion of it IS NOT. I found this out Saturday when I passed over a small single track bridge, kept left and climbed, climbed and climbed, fell, fell and fell, and nearly broke my hip before I finally decided that I made a big boo boo. I had no idea where I was, and got up to this area of nothing but red dirt and tractors and "Central Park" blocks. I was lost. I went down the hills, which is where I actually flew and landed on my hip. Too much obstacles and climbs if you have no idea how to do it, it is a real pain, no pun intended. Last time I go alone. I hope to find a way to take this trail for a longer period of time, but less climbs and less major obstacles. I will invest in clips and cleats soon to get over those huge logs. But, this trail is right near my apartment, so I will continue to find ways to challenge myself. Anyone in the area who can go with me to show me the way this trail should be taken, please e-mail me at thelandryhat@hotmail
But let me recover first. I have a huge welt and bump on my hip. OUCH!

Weekend Warrior Summary: This is an excellent trail that I really wish I had found years ago. These new directions make it much easier to find. There are plenty of climbs and descents and it is an overall great trail.
One issue that we are going to have on this trail is that it looks like construction or something along this line is beginning just a little bit after you go through the 95 tunnel. I road this trial Tuesday night (8/12/08) and there was a dirt road plowed across two sections of the trail and it ended by blocking a third section. There was a drilling rig sitting on this third section. Not good at all! Recommended Route: Follow the directions as given in the description and you will have a blast! Other recommended trails in the same area: Lodi Farm - membership required
Poor Farm Park
Burke Farm - membership required
Fountainhead Park
Belle Isle
Quantico MCB

Weekend Warrior Summary: This really is a challenging trail... a great workout for sure, with enough terrain challenges to test your skills as well. Plus, it's down by the river, so it's pretty scenic...
Compared to Hollywood Farm, it's more technical, and more difficult aerobically.
And, on top of it, you're only a mile or so from Carl's for some post-race carb-replenishment.
2200 Princess Anne St... enjoy!
Recommended Route: If you can ride it for the first time right after a race (www.fredevents.org), then there will be a fair number of signs giving you the optimum route.
If not, ride the fire road in and just before you hit the quarry lake, take a left up the hill... when in doubt, stay high until you're ready to go back down to the River and ultimately back to parking. Other recommended trails in the same area: Richmond, Brown's Island: Love it
Ashland, Poor Farm: Like it
F-Burg, Hollysood/Lodi: Like it
F-Burg, Ferry Farm: o.k.

Cross Country Rider Summary: given the location this trail is a 5. i never get tired of it as there are a good number of technical climbs to work on. in particular the climbs up on either side of the quarry are a ton of fun and give a good sense of accomplishment when completed. there is pretty regular trail building and maintenance going on back there so you're likely to find something new every other month or so Recommended Route: climb the first hill ("1") after you pass the quarry (trail has a left turn you can can take). from there ride the ridge until it drops you back down close to the river. climb right back up for some more fun at stay along towards the top of the ridge. it will eventually drop you back down and loop back to take you on the path that goes back to the quarry
