Cross Country Rider Summary: I went to the park while my girlfriend was interviewing at UVa. Just figured I'd get some riding in while I was waiting for her. Didn't expect much from a state park and series 2 mile loops. Paid $4 or so to get in and set off on the yellow trail from the first parking area. Headed up back to the entrance on I think the red trail. Rode the "tri and ride" trail back down. Wow was I surprised. this is a fun network of trails with ups and downs, twisty single track a few small jumps and roots/rocks to keep you entertained. Went around to the blue trail thinking it went around the lake. Unfortunately, the trail network doesn't seem to connect to the opposide of the lake so you can ride all the way around. Or it may and I just lost the trail. Anyway, spent an afternoon having fun. Best $4 I ever spent. Recommended Route: definitely include the "tri and ride" trail.

Cross Country Rider Summary: I'm from Athens, GA. (so the terrain is a little out of my element & it took me about about 40 minutes to get re-aquainted with rocks & boulders) I rode this trail 6-20-07 with a buddy who lives in the area. Fantastic trail, pretty tight and twisty with good rocks and roots thrown in everywhere. I think we rode everything here in about 1:40. This is a great trail close to town! Shout out to Ted and the trails crew/club for maintaining this place! Recommended Route: Ride it all! It rocks! Other recommended trails in the same area: Sherando (but bring your climbing legs, And be ready for real rock and boulder sections!)

Cross Country Rider Summary: I rode today, 3/10/07, and the overall trail condition was great. There is some deadfall from the last period of heavy winds. The trails are mostly single track, with few obstructions. There is not a lot of technical stuff. A good ride is to park at the bikersd parking area, then ride the trail that runs back to the gaurd shack on the right hand side of then paved road. Get to the guard shack area, cross the road and follow the red trail back down. Go fasssst and have fun. Other recommended trails in the same area: O-Hill

Cross Country Rider Summary: Psychobiker: what part of "multi-use trails" don't YOU understand? WC is not MTB exclusive, so please be respectful of runners/hikers.
This trail system is excellent for intermediate or better riders. It is not well marked, but it's small enough that you can't really get lost. Recommended Route: I prefer the trails on the far side of the lake... more challenging. Other recommended trails in the same area: Sherando, Sherando, and probably Sherando. (Maybe Psychobiker will ride there, get lost, and not come back.)

Cross Country Rider Summary: This is a great trail network, I look forward to getting out there again as soon as I can. It is challenging, and that's what makes it great. An intermediate rider with good skills can ride the whole trail, it does have some technical sections, but it's fun to be able to make it through a section you couldn't make in the past. Good climbs, good downhills. Recommended Route: Anywhere, really Other recommended trails in the same area: Observatory Hill
