Ridden Trail: Once a week

, from Tyson's Corner Summary: I know there are trails all over the place in and around reston. Finding the sweet ones takes patience or a trail guide. I am not real fond of the wood chip covered trails. nice idea but not the greatest surface. I did find a really cool spot with a few jumps carved in a small 'ravine'. Its located behind the nature center just down from Glade and soapstone. Fun spot.
Recommended Route: Couldnt find the location described above. I parked in a neighborhood side street accross from the catholic school on Southlakes rd. Entered a paved trail accross the street from the school. crossed a small wooden foot bridge, went right at the fork into the woods to pick up a wood chip covered trail and eventually some single track here and there. Other recommended trails in the same area: Michael Faraday

, from Leesburg, VA, USA Summary: Not a bad trail at all. I was pleasantly suprised when I checked out this trail. The very beginning is gravel covered, but that quickly changes to dirt. On the main trail, keep left and there are several options from there. Not a whole lot of trail, but by the time you hit all of the sections it suffices for a quick after work ride (approximately 3-4 miles). The trail connects to the W & OD trail, as well as several neighborhoods via paved walkways. These walways serve as pretty quick downhills connecting back to the trail. The trails themselves are singletrack with a couple stream crossings, and at least a half dozen logs for jumping. Lots of deer scampering around as well. I would rate this as a beginner/imtermediate trail. Recommended Route: Skip around the different routes to mix it up a bit Other recommended trails in the same area: Reston Ice Rink, River Bend, Wakefield

, from Alexandria Summary: Fun, fast ride. Relatively narrow trail with elevation changes, logs, and a few stream crossings. Not too many surprises - get in the zone and ride it fast. Trail gets completely covered with leaves in the Fall, but still rideable as long as it's dry. Recommended Route: Start where the W&OD Trail crosses the river. The mtbk trail is under the bridge. Other recommended trails in the same area: Fountainhead
