Great technical trails throughout though not quite as fast as candlers mtn. Beginners can stay on the main fireroad and more advanced riders can venture up into the single track to the left all along the fireroad.

Take 501 north and follow the signs to peaks view park, then park up top and follow the paved paths down to the creek, stay on the left side of the creek(baskeball courts) till you cross over a little bridge with pipes under it, follow the path until it ends in some athletic fields, keep going straight across the fields and there's a fireroad, there are trailheads all along the left hand side in the woods, generally they all loop back around back to the fireroad.

Summary:
Great trails. Central VA Mountain Bike Association takes great care of these trails. Fun- something for everyone. Easy to put down 15 miles here. Lots of fun little downhills and uphills. Not too technical. Very Fun

Recommended Route:
Hit the Rollercoaster Trail.

Summary:
rode trail while visitng relatives in Lynchburg. Great trail. Not too much elevation variation: maybe 150 to 200 ft. Feels like 2/3 of trail is downhill. well designed. very open, for the most part, with 3-4 ft wide trail and fairly open woods. Roller coaster was really fun. ran it over and over. Whole trail is a blast and good workout place for intermediate mtn biker. did not try slalom, as it looked too steep.

Recommended Route:
I rode generally counter-clockwise. Roller coaster really has a best way to ride it. Rock Pile is challenging as a climb.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
dont know any.

Summary:
A BLAST !!! This is a great little city park that, for it's small size, has alot of fun trail. It is tight, roller coaster singletrack that made me dizzy after about an hour of riding. The builder did an excellent job putting this together. No big climbs, really no technical aspects at all except the tightness of the trails. It's all intermediate in my opinion.
I rate this a 4 due to the "fun" factor.

Recommended Route:
I downloaded this map and followed the directions to the trailhead. http://go.to/cvma

Summary:
These are the best trails lynchburg has to offer. The level ranges from beginner (crusin the fireroad) to advanced (tearin up the roller coaster). There are plenty of technical decents along with rolling single track. There is about 13 miles of trail, and most trails have some forks for variation, so it never becomes old.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
blackwater creek is good for beginners and for lazy sunday afternoons, there is an atv trail that branches off of blackwater its fairly long, the only bad thing is that you end up in madison heights
