Summary:
Its a good trail and since the hurricane a couple logs have been added for fun. Too bad its for hikers but if you go early in the day less traffic. Be considerate to the hikers, after all it's really for them.

Recommended Route:
park at 64th on shore drive take the road in and look for a wooden gard rail on right go over and climb up hill and enjoy!

best ridden in the spring or fall during a lite rain or after a hard rain - trail consists mostly of sand and the rangers aren't usually out. they'll give you a warning or something.

Summary:
Been riding this area since '86 when the trail was first built. Good strenous workout and timing practice. Watch for Park Rangers. Or take the 2 1/2 mile trail to 73rd street or the other hidden trail by the parking lot. Don't ride any more, value my bike.

Summary:
The MTB legal portions of the park are all flat and mostly double track road. There is a single track section that goes through some spanish moss curtains and over a plankway in the swamp etc, sandy in spots. A friend told me ;0 that the hiking only trails are good. check out http://www.dcr.state.va.us/parks/maps/1stland.pdf

Recommended Route:
cape henry and back then uo the single track to the narrows.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Some trails located on Fort Story, one mile North, lots of sand. Stay away from off limits area's they may have unexpolded ordnance

Summary:
This is probably one of the best trials you will find around the coast. Good single track kinda technical in areas. Some hard climbs b/c of sand. For intermediate riders.

Recommended Route:
There is only one route so you dont have much of a choice.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Dam Neck trails
