Cross Country Rider Summary: Pretty flat, couple of logs, little bit of climbing here than there. I am not a huge fan of this trail. It is great if you just want to get out in your big chainring and pump but technically their is not much going on. People in this area love it, but me and the wife think it is just so-so. Recommended Route: Any of them. Lots of choices just go out and ride

Weekend Warrior Summary: Not to bad. This was by far the most trails in the smallest area I have ever seen. It seemed that there was intersecting trails about every 30 yards or so....which was fun for the explore factor. I had a lot of fun exploring, but had to ride a while before finding some difficult (in my book) climbs...which were very short.....nothing cosmic. But there are tough enough climbs to keep a climber interested for a while.....enough fast single track....for that guy...and enough scenery....this place has it all...except mountains of the west and pure area/distance covered. Recommended Route: Just get on trial from the parking lot and start exploring....the most scencic I though was along the creek. You could ride for a day and not hit every single segment of trail...which is mostly what each trail is...a segment. Other recommended trails in the same area: only ones I've ridden. Pocahontas and York. Each good in its own way.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Prevous reviews have done a good job at describing the general nature of the park - I don't have anything to add in this regard.
I'm posting this review to note that there are some additional trails that have appeared at Poor Farm over the last few months - the trail gnomes have been busy! I don't know how to even begin describing where to find the additional trails. If you have been to Poor Farm in the past, you will notice additional trials here and there. If you haven't been there before, it's all new to you! Recommended Route: There is plenty of variety at Poor Farm. There is no route - just a network of trails. Lotsa fun! Just go ride!

Cross Country Rider Summary: I applaude the persons responsible for the improvements and addittions to the trails at Poor Farm.I have not ridden the trails for about 2 years and things have really improved. This is really a change from Buttermilk. This trail is great for most skill levels and has very few hazardous areas where you could get in trouble. Also very fast when dry.The trails seem well planned and allow for good downhill runs and a relatively easy retun to the top of the hill. Well worth the drive from Richmond on a weekday, or a weekend from Tidewater. Recommended Route: There are manny options. After several rides it starts to make sense. Other recommended trails in the same area: Buttermilk, York River ,Freedom Park Redoubt Run

Weekend Warrior Summary: Poor Farm Park has a great set of trails...plenty up/down hills, log bumps, roots, creeks-crossings, etc., but lacks signs in which direction to head. In otherwords, to keep these trails singletracked and rated in difficult (for first time riders), this park begs for trail markers along all routes to orient new riders where to go and to avoid running into other riders coming from the opposite direction. Other than that, kudos to those that maintain these set of trails...definitely worthy of multiple visits Recommended Route: Once parked, start your adventure on the far left-hand side of the parking lot near the pavilion/railroad area. Other recommended trails in the same area: Deep Run
