Weekend Warrior Summary: Fun little trail, this was my first experience into mountain bike riding. This trail is alot of fun, went after it had recently rained so it was a little muddy, wet leaves and pine needles made it more challenging, there are some small liitle hills to climb, and go down, none of the climbs are challenging, as long as you carry your speed going downhill. There are some tight turns between trees, roots in those turns can be challenging, a small bridge or two, a few small log piles to go over, all in all it was fun. IT is marked that it is about two miles.

, from Virginia Beach, VA. Summary: This ride would be good either for a beginner or for a local just looking for a place to build some skills. It is flat twisty singletrack, nothing exciting. Some things of interest here though: A skatepark built over an old missile bunker, check that out for a minute. I also came upon multiple teens in the woods getting some action, so beware of the X-rated scene you may ride into. But most entertaining of all was the game that i titled "Feldspar". There were about 16 teenagers dressed up in football pads, wearing goggles and carrying wiffle bats. They would march towards each other and scream, "WAR!" and then selectively beat each other with wiffle bats and lacrosse sticks. Very, very amusing. Over all I was not very impressed. Recommended Route: You should ride this one as an out and back because of how short the trail is. Other recommended trails in the same area: York River and Waller Mill.

, from Hampton Summary: Great little trail to touch up on the skills. A beginner can ride it but it is actually quite tough if you are going FAST. It is the narrowest trail in the area and covered with pine needles. Recommended Route: Take trail - ride road back and do it again. Other recommended trails in the same area: The obvious: Waller Mill and York River

Ridden Trail: Once a week

, from Smithfield, Va Summary: This trail is quite good for beginners/intermediate. I ride this after work a couple of times a week to get some mileage in. It is definitely more difficult riding it as an out & back. Local shop in Suffolk (Bike West) helps out quite a bit with trail maintenance. Recommended Route: Follow directions listed above. Once on the trail, be careful of walkers, I've seen quite a few in the fall and spring. Other recommended trails in the same area: York River State Park (Marle Ravine Trail)
