Cross Country Rider Summary: Nice flat trail around the perimeter of the Island, but some rather difficult single track on the interior. Usually ride this as part of the Buttermilk and Northbank loop. Recommended Route: Take your pick, it does not matter. Other recommended trails in the same area: Buttermilk, Northbank, Poccahontas State Park and Petersburg National Battlefield

Cross Country Rider Summary: This trail is nice in that it's right in the middle of the city, but the trail itself isn't that great. It's king of fun in that there are lots of quick ups and downs, but no good long climbs or downhills. There is a crushed-rock trial around the perimiter of the island that anyone can ride, then some single track in the middle of the island that can be pretty hairy - don't launch yourself down anything that you don't know where it goes or you may regret it. The trails that branch off Belle island itself are fun, too. Recommended Route: the X Terra course Other recommended trails in the same area: Poor Farm Park

, from Winsted, CT, USA Summary: These trails are what you make of them. They can be Sunday stroll on the Huffy EASY or dare-devil HARD.
The hurricane did some damage to the south-east end of the hill top. Most trails have been cleared and as tight, and sometimes dangerous as always. A few trails are still blocked. Riding can be easy around the circumference trail or very technical along some of the hilltop trails. Recommended Route: XTERRA course... part of which is blocked now, though. The best (perhaps only) way up is on the gradual climb on the back of the island. The most fun (without killing yourself) down is coming down near the entrance of the island from Brown Island. Other recommended trails in the same area: Williamsburg has Marl's Ravine, Waller Mill, and the Patriot Trail. The first two are still closed from the hurricane. Ashland has the best variety of trails, and good amount of mileage at Poor Farm.

, from Virginia Beach Summary: I last rode here on Memorial Day. Hot ladies by the hundreds. So crowded. Once you get up into the trials on the hill explore and find some tight singletrack. There are some steep drops that one could die on. Explore this place, its is a great place to get some air on certain jumps, with an audience too. Recommended Route: Take a loop around the perimeter and check out the ladies, then hit up the trails in the middle and find some smoking downhills. Other recommended trails in the same area: Poor Farm, Powhite, and Pocahontas.
