Weekend Warrior Summary: We took the red loop map and road the new side in the morning and the old side in the afternoon. The morning was much more advanced and challenging (jumps, bridges, rock combos, etc.) then the afternoon (mostly roots systems and some difficult rock combos). Overall, there are tons of trails to ride, the problem is there never seems to be any smooth spots to get any serious speed going. The root system here is over the top...constant vibration through the arms and very challenging in spots. My main complaint is the map. The legend is on one side and the trail numbers and names are on the other. And because there are so many trails running off of the labelled ones it's difficult to know whether or not you are still on the marked trail or something else. We ended up on different trails and got turned around quite a bit. Many other venues (such as Killington and Kingdom Trails) have way better map and signage systems. My overall rating of 3 would have been higher if the trails had more flow to them and the map was easier to read...there real potential here...as I'm sure they are still growing and gaining ridership. Recommended Route: Rock n Roll, TNT, Rollercoaster Other recommended trails in the same area: Kingdom Trails - 1.5-2hrs away

Cross Country Rider Summary: We only had two hours to ride, and so we only got a foretaste of what this place has to offer. We liked what we saw, and will definitely be going back. The trails we rode are challenging enough to be fun and rewarding but not overwhelming for most riders- advanced intermediate level. I cleaned almost everything on a 29er single speed. They're a little bit rocky and rooty, but not too much. There is a lot of climbing- long moderate grinds on the access trails and short steep power climbs on the singletrack. Some steep and tricky descents too.
This place is not as popular as some other Northern Vermont destinations, so the trails get less traffic and are in better condition.
As obnoxious as Vermonters can be with their isolationist attitudes, they do build great trails- and these are some of the best.
Recommended Route: You'll want to ride Locomotion, especially the section by the old boiler, Capital Loop, Ghost, Heather Pasture. Indian Trail is a good warm up/cool down. Other recommended trails in the same area: Kingdom Trails are fun but they're getting beat up from overuse.

Cross Country Rider Summary: great riding, awesome trails and tons of stuff to hit. the trails marked easy are snowmobile trails, moderate was fun and fast, but the advanced is where it's at. not too much of it but enough i guess. nice and even some ups and downs, very much like kingdom trails (but a little rougher....and thats good) in that the trails are like a rollercoaster. rippin down then diggin up. i see from previous reviews that the price has gone up to $8, but in my opinion, well worth it. trails are in great shape, not washed out and all beat up.....yet. rode for about 2 hours and a bit over 10 miles and only saw two other riders. some of the landscape is amazing with the old quaries and huge rock piles. HIGHly recommend to everyone i know. Recommended Route: hit them all....i know i will be going back very soon to hit what i didnt ride last time
