Weekend Warrior Summary: Went out today after the rain we've been having. Finally got a GPS tracker for my Android (My Tracks). Found a bunch of stuff I hadn't ridden before but a good combination of slick (on the rocks and downed trees crossing the trails) and tacky (everywhere in between).
There's lots of good stuff in there and two additional entrances to the trail system (one snaking single track leading to the main route, another is double track heading to the same place). Recommended Route: Check out the link to the map I made http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=202661486089547605148.0004ac75d15041c1d0365
Usually start my ride in downtown Burlington, head north on North Ave. Drop down to the bike path via the trail across from the shell station (Dead Man's Drop) but watch out for the downed tree right at the entrance! Cruise the bike path and make my way up through the campground and BHS parking lots to the back of the high school.
I entered at the top of the parking lot past some of the ropes course obstacles. Bombed a hill and ended up facing the knarliest rock garden (I hadn't seen before) which made for an interesting climb. After that I just cruised around taking random side trails.
Turn on the satellite view and you'll see I popped out in a parking lot. There were two other trail markings that I tried to enter but they didn't amount to anything so I back tracked into the main loop.
keep pointing down hill and you'll end up coming out in a clearing, a short trail dumps you onto the bike path back into town. Other recommended trails in the same area: For kicks I biked back up Dead Man's Drop and took a short but steep little downhill (drop in, head right around the big cement block, dodge some roots) back onto the bike path.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Some nice short sections of trail. No great length however. Hit the trails when they are still damp for some challenging slippy rock riding.
I find it fits in nicely with a loop - through the intervale then through ethan allan park, play around in the trails here, then take bike path back into town hitting oakledge park trails for some drops
There are some very difficult timber sections (6 foot high skinnys etc) buried in here but they were rapidly falling into disrepair and should be walked first. Most of the ones I found took my weight but not sure how much longer will last. Recommended Route: follow the main trails in behingd the high school and explore. you can't get very far without ending up back out at the start or on the bike path Other recommended trails in the same area: oakledge, camp johnson

Weekend Warrior Summary: most of the drops are to flat no skill landings. it ok if you live in the area to get some quick pedaling in, but dont drive here expecting something good. trail length adds up to 2 miles maybe 3.5 at the most. Recommended Route: laps around the place.. do every line in both directions...then go somewhere else..

Weekend Warrior Summary: This is paobably the most kick ass trail in the area. Lots of entrences. I'm not exactly the best rider in the world, but these trails have improved my riding skill. Lots 'o rocks and routs and dips and even some drops (there are suposedly a few huge assed drops in there, but i can't find them). Only saw one bad accident there, though, and that was with my friend manno. he didn't get hurt, but his bike went flying into a tree cogs first. totally destroyed his front gears. Recommended Route: Everywhere, except for where you piss people off (icovin, i really don't get your whole "stay on the main trail!" logic). Just don't go past that sign on the south west corner that says "PRIVATE PROPERTY". It's fun out there, given, but it's not worth the lecture that they give you. check out the ropes course outside of E-building if you want to work on your balance. It's also a great way to get to the beach if you don't want to go on the road. Other recommended trails in the same area: Eathen Allan Park (AKA Eathan Allan Tower), Cutback 51, UVM and the Urban Assult Run, and pretty much everything else you can ride.

Downhiller Summary: This trail is def one of the best in burlington in terms of drops and rugged terrain. there's a part where theres an almost vertical chute down a 25-35 foot hill that you FLY down...insane. lots of huge ass drops: 12 footers, 10 footers are hard to find but theyre there. i love this trail and am glad thats its still mostly natural and doesnt have too much of that east coast notrth shore bullsh*t with planks and all that crap...it pollutes areas scenic integrities and takes up valuable riding space. Recommended Route: same as in description: go up sandy trail to right off bike path and straight across the field until you hit the trail behind some peoples house. sick ass trick son. Other recommended trails in the same area: your mom.
