Mobb's Valley and Hill
3 reviews

Whoa, plenty of riding here to keep a fit rider busy for a few hours. The link to FOTWheel offers lots of information. I lifted the following description from their website:

Mobbs Valley has been described as a "roller-coaster" of intermediate level singletrack. The loop is fast and super fun and may be tackled in both directions (although it was laid out to be ridden in the direction as marked). The loop also features 5 beautiful bridges across ravines (built by the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps www.vycc.org). There are also some pre-existing double track trails for the beginner who is not quite ready for the concept of riding single-track. The Mobbs Valley trail was carefully thought out to take advantage of all the salient features of the topography, as well as all the variety mother nature has to offer (including a wonderful swimming hole!).

Mobbs Hill is a more technically advanced 3.5 mile loop entitled the "Americana" trail. The trail is so named as it includes 3 car wrecks and other items of "Americana". This trail is characterized by steep ascents and descents, technical single track, some small drop offs, and a couple areas of exposure on the "Lost Island" section. This is a trail that will make the more advanced rider gleeful and the less advanced rider mighty nervous. A new beginner/intermediate trail is planned for this season, but has not yet been constructed.

Summary:
We rode the valley side first and then we rode the hill. The trails are all very well marked including a map posted on the trail head. The best way up the hill is to ride the road back out about .25-.5 miles, look for the trail marker on the left. All the trails flowed very nice, and were very well maintained. This place is worth checking out. You will be glad you did. I will be back.

Recommended Route:
Go up Mobbs Hill onto Americana, and Lost Island.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Circumcision Highway

Summary:
Wow, I just got off this trail and am really impressed. This is a great set of loops that are well worth checking out. The trailbuilders have done a terrific job cutting, marking and maintaining these trails. Kudos to FOTW! Mobbs Hill is technically challenging, with a few spots that had my heart up in my throat. Mobbs Valley is a bit more XC, but technical XC at that. With new connector trails hooking up in the Burlington area, FOTW may soon have as vast a trail network as Kingdom Trails, but with a wider variety of terrain.

Recommended Route:
I'm lost. My friend guided our ride. Just get a map off the website, and go poke around up there. The trails are marked with little orange signs, and are easy to see.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Arcana Loop, Tarbox Hill Loop
