Cross Country Rider Summary: More good news. Parts of this area, including the Catamount and Mill Brook Trails are in the process of being purchased by the Mad River Path Association. Access for mtbikers is about to be fully protected. Sweet! Other recommended trails in the same area: What are you kidding me? Too many to list.

, from Moretown Summary: Not sure how closing one route off the main line garners one star ratings, but whatever. Much recent work by MRR, MRPA and CTA folks on Catamount Trail section. Thanks to Geoff Wade especially. Stay positive, get involved and we just might have a lot more totally legit riding soon. Or you can sit back and snipe. Your choice. Recommended Route: The Mad River Riders are working on reconnecting this trail to upper areas again. Other options currently include exiting to Marble Hill or Harris Hill Road, in addition to the downhill to German Flats. If you go to Harris Hill, please be quiet as pass the landowner at the top of the road. Without his support, we could lose more riding.

Reviewed by: Neil Summary: Things (access) have changed. No longer a worthwhile access point into upper riding areas. Be careful for caltrops. Fun enough but out you go to the German flats again...

, from Vergennes Summary: The stuff up high above Marble Hill is superior 'squiggle' riding. Last time, we got a little lost and rode some thigh-high vegetated old log roads - they exited to more good riding. Small hidden trails directly W of Dana Hill should NOT be missed. Slippery when wet. The wood bridges on the Millbrook Trail are invitations to get very smacked up if they are not bone dry. I got off one and literally skiied it's length on my riding shoes when it was wet. Really some superior stuff out there. I suggest alowing plenty of time, so you can essentially turn off wherever you desire. Follow your nose! Recommended Route: Access either via German Flats on left before North, or or at the top of Marble Hill.
