Ridden Trail:
Once a week

Summary:
horses do a number on these trails. I've been building alternate routes to prevent dismounting, including bridges, and dryer, higher sniggle. I've been marking the quick route with orange tape, and I've been trying to build some trickier, steeper diversions, as well. These will all soon be located off of the orange blazed trails, but will be marked with blue tape and I'll try to make them as knubby as possible!!!

Recommended Route:
as directed

Ridden Trail:
Every few months

Summary:
Not very long, but with imagination and courage, can be great fun. I suggest taking every right possible. Trail will be plenty challenging. Eventually it will dissolve inbto pure , cross -country bush wacking. Keep going, it eventually ends in a huge pasture. Ride the pasture down towards the valley. At this point, hike your Bike up on your shoulder and wade the river. Head towards the road. Follow until you cross two bridges. On the second, turn right towards the farmhouse, bear left and make a gut wrenching climb through the woods. You end up back on campus. On this trail, I have seen deer, a bear, and 30 - 40 wild turkeys. Fun and challenging if you have the exporer spirit. Wimps, stay home.

Recommended Route:
Go to JSC campus. At Y in road, go straight for 30 - 40 ft. Trail begins on left, park on the right.

Look around. Johnson is full of them.

Summary:
Not the hardest ride, but still lots of fun. Good double track. Don't miss the single track through the ropes course. That section makes the ride worthwhile! Oh yes make sure you ride it downhill.

Recommended Route:
I like to start at the small dirt pull off across from the college apartments. The trail begins next to the maintence building.

Reviewed by: Steve , from Johnson, VT USA

Summary:
The trails here are fine if you live nearby, but I wouldn't drive hundreds of miles to check them out. If you want some real action, check out Smuggler's Notch and Stowe!

Recommended Route:
Start at the trailhead described above, continue up at the first intersection. Go up as far as you want, turn around and reap the rewards, DON'T MISS THE GREEN MONSTER!! There is a great and knowledgeable moss covered jump on the way down, be sure pay tribute to the green monster. When you reach the formentioned intersection again, head back to the left and continue on to a water tower high atop the hill. From the tower there are a few choices. Go straight for a ripping downhill, and gruelling climb, or bear to the right on some hard to discern singletrack for some pine needly, log hoppin', chainring bendin', bar end snapping good times.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Camp Johnson, Colchester.
