Summary:
This place is good for begining riders. Not too technical, and no steep hills. There are a few rocks and small logs to roll over, but they are minimal.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Irish Hill

Summary:
There are 3 major sections to this trail, with the East Montpelier Town Forest section being the largest and most varied. Check the website of the local bike group (www.bikemamba.org) for a map. Be aware that the middle section (Center Rd. to Templeton Rd.) may be closed to bikes at landowner request. Again, check with MAMBA for current status. Please be respectful of landwoners and walk around excessively muddy spots.

Recommended Route:
You can ride from Montpelier up to Center Rd. (a *major* climb) and take a right on Dodge Rd. to access the first secion (Lyle Young, marked by boulders on the left). Ride all the way across to Hagget Rd (again, check if middle section is open, otherwise use the roads to go around), then hop over to North St to Sparrow Farm to access the Sparrow Farm trail. You can decend all the way back to town on a very fun and fast fire road, but the bottom section may or may not allow bikes. Again, check with MAMBA for status.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Trails are being developed at Morse Farm on County Rd, and could be linked with East Montpelier stuff for a good long ride.

Summary:
I live right across the road from the trail exit on Lyle Young rd, so if you're in the area, e-mail me or im me on AIM. My screenname is urchum60. I'll show you around. I ride these trails 5 days a week. The best place is behind the fire station. when you enter the trails, I usually take a right at the first intersection. This leads to a steep uphill followed by smooth but technical downhill. From here take a left then a right, and you will find yourself on a network of trails. look carefully at intersections and you will find small maps pinned to trees. you can find some really technical loops that will take you back to the fire station eventually. Lots a fun. Also, in the summer of '03 look for technical freeride trails that include several 3 foot drops and one five footer, as well as northshore-style ramps and stunts. The easiest way to find thewse trails would be to e-mail me. Also, if you are fairly local and want to help with the construction of these trails email me.

Recommended Route:
well, there are three sections of the East Montpelier trail. In my opinion, the fastest and most rewarding trail is the one that starts on center rd., and finishes on Lyle Young rd. The most technical is the one from center to templeton. A mix of both speed and technical riding can be found behind the fire station on Templeton rd.

stowe- behind irie cycles(talk to owner) includes some insane steeps and drops

Anyone who is looking for tight singletrack and some speed, with steep rock climbs coming back from templeton rd. There are 3 sections of this trail the second is the best because of all the technical rocks and tree's fallen across the trail. go during the may-september season.

Recommended Route:
Best from haggett rd to Templeton rd.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
