Cross Country Rider Summary: If you like freeriding, then this is the place for you. The bridges are fun, and the drops are insane. This place is easy to find and fun to ride. My hat's off to whoever made and maintain these trails. Keep up the good work. Recommended Route: Enter at the Inn at Essex Other recommended trails in the same area: Essex Reservoir

Weekend Warrior
, from Ithaca, NY Summary: This trail is good stuff. It is more of an area then just a trail. The main trail with the bridges, ladders, skinnies, etc, is pretty technical with some nice to crazy ups and downs. There is also some nice riding branching off to the sides. I am moving up to VT soon and will certainly go back to ride this trail again. I would love to meet up with some of the builders and help out with some maintanance as some repair is needed of some of the structures. But, in all there is lots of cool stuff in there. Recommended Route: The start at the Essex Inn instructions are a good start then just keep looking for branches off the trail towards the highway. Lots of these elbows have stunts on them and bring you looping back to the main trail. I am sure that this area will require a few trips to learn where all the good stuff is. Other recommended trails in the same area: Don't let the bashers keep you from a fun but mellow afternoon at Catamount. My two cents... skip Oakledge park, not much there and pretty run down.
