Something for everyone(except the hardcore DH monster),Catamount offers some great technical singletrack, relaxing rolling hills, and grassy meadows. Great for the moderate level biker and a great place for beginners too. Friendly staff, detailed maps, well maintained, and weekly summer races.
Summary: I thought that I would give a recent review since it has not had one in a while.
I traveled to Burlington for work and was able to ride this trail about an hour and a half before they closed it at 6pm. The Chose to follow the black trail out of the parking lot. This trail had good single and double track with a few technical sections consisting mainly of roots and some rocks. Most of the time it had good flow and the signage was better than average to keep you moving and knowing your taking the right turns. The entire faclity is very nice and the people working it were helpful. Id say the black trail was one the easy side for XC riding with a few climbs that were on the tough side. Its worth checking out if your near down town Burlington.

Summary: This isa great place to go. It has color-coded difficulty levels so you know what you're getting into. Green trails are
5-10min rides that dont challenge you a lot, but are great for beginners or short rides. Then there are 45 minute red trails that are both steep and technical, which make for a great challenge. I havn't even tried the blacks yet... The trails are fun and varied. The price is great, 4$ for an unlimited day at Catamount, and 65$ for a season's pass. the weekend races are fun and provide a push to get you to work harder!
Recommended Route: I personally prefer the blues at first, and then slowly get into reds by the middle of my ride, and then come back to blues for the end.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Mob's Valley is a great ride found on Fit Simmon's road in Jericho. It has very well-maintained trails, lots of challenging terrain, and also some asier stuff. It is more technical than steep, so if you're like me, you'll like it even more... Plus it has the greatest swimming hole in all of Northern VT as far as I'm concerned. To top it all off... IT'S FREE!

Summary: Catamount is a great place. Yes, some of the trails lack a bit of serious challange for the freeride crowd, but there is lots of really well maintained singletrack. This includes smooth fast swooping turns in open fields as well as tight twisty runs in the woods with bits of exposed ledge here and there. I see that they are building a biker-cross track, if we can talk them into adding some log bridges, teeter-totters and skinnies to the edge of some of the trails in the woods I will become a regular when I move to VT soon.
Recommended Route: Tell the staff at the check-in what you are after and they will be glad to help. As others have said, they are super nice. I for one am happy to pay a couple bucks to support a cool group doing some good for our sport!
Other recommended trails in the same area: I am new to the area but trails are everywhere!
