Little Creek South - Arrowhead Trail

This is a great area to ride, lots of slick rock and one of the largest open patch playgrounds, with a slope, (just like skiing), in the area. There is no trail or markings yet, just virgin slick rock. You will need to pick your way along the canyon rim, but around every corner is a new challenge and great riding. One of the most fun trails and areas I have been on in this area, similar to Gooseberry and Little Creek North. I am sure in time it will be discovered, but until then expect peace and solitude. You will have to pick your path and trail through the slick rock obstacles and there are a lot of playground areas. The rock is smoother than Gooseberry and has more red in it. There is a large cattle pond on the South end of the largest slick patch. And there is a large wash to the North of this patch. This is the wash you will skirt as you ride West. Good luck and happy trails. First ridden by Mark, Cory, Greg and Doug.

Trail Directions
Follow the same directions as Little Creek Trail Network, but, when you get to the intersection that is on the main dirt road, where you turn right (North) turn LEFT, South instead. Drive down this road, you will go through a couple of cattle gates and by a pond. Keep going and stay to the right. You will soon come to a large patch of slick rock. The trail is on this slick rock and along the wash that is to the north and west of this large patch. There are little or no trail or marks. Get an aerial photo from http://terraserver.homeadvisor.msn.com/default.asp and have fun. Don't get lost. If you email me I will send you a .jpg of the trail route we took. GPS'ed.

Fun, fun, fun. What can I say, I love this trail and area, maybe it is the solitude and absolute lack of anybody except a few cows. Great riding and lots of areas to play and just get lost in riding. (but don't get lost), we use a GPS unit and track our routes and milage. We averag about 8 miles out and back and playing around. The area is still virgin, free of any sign of mountain bikes, except for ours. I can't wait to go back. Have fun.

Recommended Route:
Get a good aerial photo of the area and just go exploring, there are always ways to connect the patches and lots of fun riding. Someday I can see a nice network out in this area, until then we just ride and bushwack. Here is a link to the aerial. http://terraserver.homeadvisor.msn.com/image.asp?S=11&T=1&X=758&Y=10254&Z=12&W=2 and http://terraserver.homeadvisor.msn.com/image.asp?S=12&T=1&X=379&Y=5127&Z=12&W=2
